Inspired by both the Pictorialism photography movement and the Luminism painting movement, my new color work aims to step beyond the realistic documentary nature of straight photography. To do this, I draw upon my experience and vision from the traditional photographic darkroom and other artistic training to build images, which evoke nostalgic feelings and memories for the viewers. In the digital darkroom, I manipulate the images by burning, dodging, masking, and adding textures to create the vision I have for each scene.
