Fourth Floor View, by Jerrold Belland

Artist Statement

This work comes from a series of paintings whose subject matter is the view from the windows of my fourth-floor studio. The view is of Racine’s inner city. This particular painting is meant to be a faithful, realistic rendition of what I’m seeing from my “fourth floor view.” Later paintings in this series became more abstracted.
