The Racine Art Guild Juried Competitions are organized to demonstrate the creativity of the members of this group of practicing artists. Artworks selected for this show express an understanding of proficiency in art techniques and presentation of work. Work submitted must be original, executed within the last two years, and never exhibited at a previous Art Guild show.
Artist Jan Serr chose this year's this juried show. Serr creates paintings, works on paper, prints, and artist made books. She earned her BA and MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her work is in major private, public and corporate collections in the United States and Canada. Internationally, three times Serr has participated in the Art in the Embassy program, U.S. State Department. Jan Serr has gallery representation in Chicago, IL; Madison, WI; Milwaukee, WI; and Toronto, Ontario.
The purpose of the Racine Art Guild is to promote creative and original art for the mutual benefit of members, and to advance the appreciation of art in Racine.
