In addition to welcoming insects onto its walls, the Racine Art Museum, together with Real Racine, invites "bugs" of all ages to participate in the All the Buzz Bugathon.
Milwaukee-based Radio Disney (AM 1640) will bring its Road Show to RAM from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. The museum is partnering with the youth-oriented radio network to highlight RAM’s All the Buzz
Bugathon event. Come dressed as your favorite bug. Then walk, crawl, or
scatter down Main Street towards the finish line at Monument Square.
Be a lone bug or bring
your own bug family. Day care centers, day camp participants and workplace and
club groups are encouraged to arrive in costume for a bug infestation. For a
smooth getaway, create a Bugmobile using a non-motorized vehicle, such as a
bicycle, tricycle, wagon, stroller or scooter!
Great prizes will be awarded to
the Creepiest, the Most Realistic, and the Most Artistic bugs. The Best Bugmobile and the Best Group Effort will also be rewarded. And both the adult and child
Best Overall Bugs will be applauded when they ride in Racine’s famous Fourth
of July Parade on Monday, July 5.
Younger bugs and families gather at - Fourth and Main Street by 6:30 pm.
Adult bugs and bug groups meet at - Third and Main Street by 6:45 pm.
