Adult Classes
The core curriculum for adult classes revolves around traditional fine arts basics such as painting and drawing, but also addresses ceramics, metalsmithing, basketry and bookmaking, among other skills. Classes are offered in semester-long segments, as well as in shorter workshops that last one to four sessions. An ongoing series of master's workshops is offered each year in painting and craft media.
RAM offers a variety of educational lectures relating to topics the museum addresses either in its exhibitions or its studio art education programs. Each exhibition is paired with a daytime and evening gallery tour to provide visitors with an opportunity to learn more about the exhibition from a member of the exhibition or education staff.
Children's Classes
Classes for children are offered in stepped age groups from 4-13 years old. They are based on a core curriculum of general introductions to most art media. All classes are designed to develop art interests and expand the creative potential. As children advance in age to 10, they may specialize in topics such as painting, cartooning or ceramics. High school students and young adults may sign up for adult courses.
